Chad Philhour grew up in the De Soto School District. His parents built a home in Woodland Park in western Shawnee. Chad graduated from De Soto High School in 1996. As a Wildcat, he was successful in both athletics and academics and fondly remembers his coaches and teachers. He wants today's kids to have similar experiences.
After obtaining a degree in Architecture from KU, Chad has built a successful career working as a partner at a local firm. Skills such as strategic thinking, problem solving and team building are critical to success as an architect as well as a school board member.
Chad and his wife Amanda chose to live in USD 232 because of the excellent School District. As a husband and father of four daughters, three of which attend Mize Elementary, Chad understands the importance of steady leadership focused on what's best for kids. He wants USD 232 to preserve its tradition of excellence for the future.
